Dining Destination of the Year
The Star on the Hill combines the warmth, character and atmosphere of a traditional 16th century Inn with a modern dining twist. An A La Carte menu of exciting, forward-thinking dishes offers balance to our Farmer's Menu of traditional pub food.
The menus change seasonally, with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients and game - all of which have gained us an excellent reputation. For those with a sweet-tooth, head chef Natalie is something of an expert, concocting tempting dishes as chocolate-orange torte, maple and pecan cheesecake, passion-fruit tart and chargrilled pineapple with a blackcurrant sorbet and toasted coconut.
From an idyllic remote setting amongst verdant greenery and old english woodland, The Star on the Hill overlooks the South Wales county of Monmouthshire, with the magical Brecon Beacons in the background. Whatever time of year you visit you will be greeted by incredible views, and for the colder months you can warm up next to one of our three open-log fires whilst enjoying your tipple of choice from our well stocked bar. During the Summer months, a large garden makes the most of the spectacular scenery.
Our new conservatory seats up to 130 people, the ideal venue for wedding parties, birthdays, baby showers and other events. Our young and attentive team will cater for your every need to ensure your occasion is memorable and hassle free. An extensive car park ensures all of your guests will find no difficulties in parking.
We look forward to sharing our innovative Inn with you - from Adam (Landlord), Natalie (Head Chef) and all of the Star on the Hill team.
